2. Summary

In this study, the model of the Soil and water assessment tool (SWAT) is implemented to simulate the water balance components in order to understand the status of the hydrological process and water resources in an ungauged urban watershed.

Vadodara city watershed in India is an ungauged urban area. Therefore, the regionalization method (A ratio method of regionalization) is used in this study. The regionalization method is based on results similar basin characteristics show similar hydrological treatments. Thus, the hydrological parameters can be transferred from the same watersheds. Khanpur station is selected basis for this reason. Daily data from 1979 to 2013 at Khanpur station is used for calibration and validation by SUFI-2 algorism (Sequential Uncertainty Fitting-2) in SWATCUP2012.

SUFI-2 algorithm shows good performance in both calibration and validation data. The model using historical stream flow records has successfully calibrated based on river discharge. Therefore, it is proved that the regionalization method can be a approach to predict the river discharge and peak flow in ungauged watersheds.
