Summary of Paper
Fluorescent organic matter constitutes 40 to 60% of organic matter. This fluorescent organic matter is from plant or animal origin. When this matter decays, it gives rise to fluorophores. When this matter is excited with high energy light, the matter is excited and when the matter attains the low energy, it emits light as a result of which excitation emission matrix (EEM) is obtained. 10 Samples were collected at 7 -14 day interval. Samples were excited with light of wavelength range 250-400 nm at 5nm step. Emission was detected in the wavelength range of 300?500nm at 0.5nm interval.
For water, general quality assessment (GQA) include three chemical measurements viz., biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), dissolved oxygen (DO), and ammonia) which are used to detect common types of organic pollutants from sewage treatment works. The results of the study are summarized in table below.
