2. Summary

An optimal system design as well as advanced fault tolerant control is required to propose a cost-effective design and control of a seawater reverse osmosis(SWRO) desalination plant. For this case, a dynamic model is essential to complete a plant design with steady-state model. So, the cycle NCR(Normal operation-Cleaning-Replacement) is modeled by means of a hybrid automation using software program.

Water and salt transport coefficients that are affected by temperature and time variables are solved at the each stage of the cycle NCR. And the simulation is operated by pre-defined Rc and Rr that are ratio of membrane cleaning and membrane replacement, respectively.

As a consequence of the simulation, we can obtain tables of the variations of water and salt transport permeate coefficient according to the temperature and time variables. Simulation results are enough to describe the insight of membrane degradation and the cycle NCR with the control theory of hybrid model.

3. Application to research

We can utilize the simulation consequence using computational software program for future study.
