2. Summary of Paper
Mixing of contaminants in water system is complex. Prediction of water quality is based on this complex mixing and dispersion of the contaminants. The paper titled “A New Methodology for Determining Dispersion Co-efficient Using Ordinary and Partial Differential Transport Equations” discusses the dispersion of E. Coli using N-tank-in-series (NTSI) model. The model was used to determine the longitudinal averaged velocity which is a ratio of advection to dispersion and N, the optimal tank number. The velocity so obtained was used to find the effective distribution co-efficient of Advection-Dispersion-Reaction (ADR) model. The algorithm used to determine distribution co-efficient using NTSI model is shown in figure below.

3. Creativity
This work has an advantage on the previous works on determination of distribution co-efficient. It is because, the already defined methods were complex in nature and so application of previous work was limited. Another advantage of using NTIS is that it can be applied to different systems of water.

4. Contribution to ESEL
Due to wide applicability of the model, NTIS can be helpful in determining the distribution co-efficient in different systems of water to be analyzed for research and study of further parameters based on distribution co-efficient of E. Coli.
