The original and creativity of paper: The paper presented a critical review about membrane fouling caused by inorganic salts in water and wastewater treatment. 

Summary: 
-    CP is concentration polarization which is a phenomenon that occurred when the concentration of particle in the vicinity of the membrane surface is higher than that in the bulk. CP can cause deterioration and reduction the rate of permeates. There are several quantitative models that have been developed to describe CP during membrane process. Table 1 reveals the application and limitation of different CP models. According to the membrane fouling, CP is not considered as fouling because when the filtration process is stopped, the phenomenon of CP disappears.
-    Inorganic fouling (mineral scale) is the accumulation of particles on membrane surface, or in the pores of membrane, this phenomenon also decreases the permeate flux of filtration process. 
-    Irreversible inorganic fouling is the fouling that cannot be recovered unless the membrane is replaced or cleaned by chemical reagents. Because irreversible fouling caused by strongly adherent films or material trapped within the porous substructure of the membrane.
