Summary

In this paper, spatial geomorphological, and seasonal variability of salinity, TOC, CDOM in estuaries of Florida Coastal Everglades has been studies. Samples were collected from Florida Bay (FB), Ten Thousand Islands (TTI), and Whitewater Bay (WWB).

Salinity showed a seasonal variation in all the three regions of study. Mean salinity was high in FB followed by TTI and FB in dry season while it started to increase in wet season. Mean TOC concentration was found to be highest in WWB, then in TTI, and was found lowest in FB. TOC was slightly higher in wet season in FB and TTI whereas it was not different in dry and wet seasons in WWB. Mean FMax (maximum fluorescence) for colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) was high in TTI, then in WWB. It was found lowest in FB. TTI showed high FMax in wet season. WWB was highest during dry season. No seasonal difference in the FMax was observed in FB. These variations are shown in the following figure.
